Contract: Permanent, full-time

Job Summary

To assist with the upkeep and maintenance of various buildings on the Highgrove Estate, comprising of:

  • The Orchard Room
  • Highgrove Estate Shop
  • Barley Court
  • Street Farm
  • Close Farm
  • Tetbury Shop
  • Warren Business Park Warehouse

The role will consist of liaising with key stakeholders across each premises and ensuring that proactive and reactive maintenance tasks are carried out, enabling operations and activities to run smoothly. 

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • Assisting with the organisation and delivery of preventative maintenance and repair works.
  • Supervising contractors whilst on-site and ensuring works are carried out satisfactorily.
  • Managing the cleaning contractors day-to-day.
  • Managing routine maintenance tasks, ensuring completion within budget and deadlines.
  • Working with other departments to ensure compliance with statutory legislation and bets practice.
  • Providing technical/practical support to building users.
  • Carrying out regular occurring tasks such as fire alarm tests, emergency lighting tests and meter readings.
  • Perform regular inspections to identify any potential issues and take appropriate action to address them.
  • Provide basic administration support, including raising purchase orders, processing invoices and maintaining records.

    Essential Criteria

    • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work under pressure and problem solve where required.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team player.
    • A friendly, flexible, helpful, enthusiastic, can-do attitude.
    • Understanding of facilities and maintenance functions.

    Desirable Criteria

    • Previous experience in a similar role as part of a facilities team.
    • A working knowledge of hard services (e.g. heating systems, HVAC, fire alarm systems).

    Hours of Work

    • 37.5 hours per week (Full-time)
    • Monday to Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (unpaid lunch break)
    • Extra weekend watering duties are required on a rota/seasonal basis

    Additional Information

    • The post holder will report directly into the Executive Director of Highgrove & Partnerships but will be required to work closely with the Head of Finance and Operations, Group Health and Safety Manager, Head Gardener and Senior Education Manager.
    • You must have the legal right to work in the UK.
